The Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee

What is the Ambassador Committee?

The Ambassador Committee is a prestigious group of Chamber members who want to volunteer their time to be a more active member within the Chamber as well as within the Mayfield/Graves County business community. Ambassadors work with the Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce staff and Board of Directors to increase membership, improve membership retention, strengthen awareness of Chamber benefits, complete quality of life projects to improve the community, as well as volunteer their time to assist with various Chamber events.

The Ambassador Committee is the Public Relations arm of the Chamber. This dynamic group of "movers and shakers" is out in the community promoting membership and providing the manpower to "meet and greet" at all member events, while having a great time and growing their business through the contacts they make.

Qualifications of an Ambassador
  • An Ambassador should be a professional in a position which allows flexibility to meet requirements of membership.

  • An Ambassador should be interested in community involvement and have future leadership potential for the Mayfield/Graves County Chamber.

  • An Ambassador should be knowledgeable about Chamber services, its programs and activities, and the business community.

 Responsibilities of an Ambassador
  • An Ambassador is asked to recruit, sponsor, and sign 4 new Chamber members per year.

  • An Ambassador is expected to attend the monthly meetings, held on the second Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. (Monthly meetings are held for the purpose of informing Ambassadors about Chamber business, reviewing the event calendar, and tending to other Chamber needs such as New Member events.)

  • An Ambassador who misses 3 or more consecutive monthly meetings will be considered ?inactive?. Meeting attendance is very important in fulfilling your Ambassador duties.

  • An Ambassador should be knowledgeable about Chamber services and programs.

  • An Ambassador should volunteer their time to assist with Chamber luncheons, dinners, and special events; ribbon cuttings, the Annual Golf Classic, and other Chamber events.

  • An Ambassador should welcome and visit new Chamber members as well as deliver New Member information.

  • An Ambassador should retain a professional appearance and attitude when representing the Chamber.

  • An Ambassador should wear their name tag to all Chamber events, whether or not they have signed up to volunteer for that event.

 Benefits of being an Ambassador
  • An Ambassador has the opportunity to meet business leaders for potential business and social contacts.

  • An Ambassador will receive exposure of their name and company before the business community.

  • An Ambassador may have the opportunity to advance to other Chamber opportunities, i.e., the Chamber?s Board of Directors, Chairperson for Ambassador Committee, etc.

  • An Ambassador has an opportunity to receive special invitations to exclusive ?invitation only? Chamber Board and staff events.
